So now that Joseph and I are engaged one of the top things on the list to do is to choose a date. So naturally our minds go to a weekend date such as a Saturday and we wanted to do the Saturday after graduation. but now that would be asking way to much!!
The academy has for some reason decided not to like the class of 2012. For the past 30 years they have hosted graduation on a Friday. Now for some reason they decided to have it on a TUESDAY! And that creates so many problems.
Joseph has family coming from California,Japan and Vermont. All his family from Japan is in the wedding, his brother and his nephews. buttttt with graduation being on a Tuesday his entire family would have to stay for an entire week, which living in Annapolis that would be so expensive and they would miss out on work.
So we go on to our next solution....have the wedding on the Wednesday after. Well that also doesn't work. My younger sisters are all still in school and cant take off cause its their last week, and my dad can't take off during a holiday week,which it just happens to be. So my family can't make it for the middle of the week. No matter what way we try to plan it half of our family can't be there.And it makes his family choose between graduation or our wedding,which are two of the most important things in Josephs life. Now I have been planning my wedding forever and if I can't have all of mine and his family there then its just not gonna work.
Some people say well just wait a couple months and then do it.... but that would involve his brother flying to the states twice in a couple months and that's just crazy! and so expensive.
Having a court wedding isn't exactly how I dreamed of getting married...I want my daddy to walk me down the isle. I want Joseph and his friends and my friends down at the end waiting for me to walk down in this beautiful dress. And after I want the ceremony where I get to dance with my daddy..and have my first dance as Mrs. Luna with my handsome husband..and the cutting of the cake and just everything your supposed to have when you get married.
We are just running out of so many options. But whatever we have to do. Everything will work out. As long as I get to marry the love of my life and my best friend that's all that matters :)
